Our client is looking for talented and experienced Steel Purchaser who can deliver exceptional service to their customer in the Fort Worth area.

What will make you a successful Steel Purchaser?

In this role, you will coordinate and negotiate the purchase of raw materials (steel) to facilitate proper inventory levels that meet the ongoing requirements of the production schedule. Duties include reviewing project documents and shop drawing to ascertain the materials needed, working with office and shop personnel to process and expedite orders when necessary among others.

Role & Responsibilities

Secure raw materials to facilitate production schedule
Ensure multiple quotes are received and negotiate pricing to ensure LMC
Experience with vendor relations, inventory control, negotiations, and writing purchase orders will be required.
Coordinate the delivery of raw materials to best accommodate production.
Coordinate outsourcing with 3rd party vendors/fabricators
Write purchase orders
Maintain inventory levels based on established manufacturing demands.
Keep detailed purchasing records
Organize & maintain purchase orders and purchasing documents.


Must-have 3-5 years of manufacturing purchasing experience
Must-have 3-5 years experience in steel purchasing
Must-have 1-3 years of inventory control experience
Must have good computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication skills both oral and written in English
Organized & detail oriented
Strong multitasking skills
Ability to maintain confidential information
Ability to work in a team setting
Ability to work extra hours as needed
