1/31/10 - LinkedIn Invitations

"I'd like to add you to my professional network on LinkedIn."

When you invite someone to join your LinkedIn network, PLEASE DO NOT use the generic LinkedIn invitation above.

ALWAY write a personal note. Be sure to include, where we met or why we should connect.

Take 30 seconds to personally invite someone. You will jog the other persons mind and help them to identify you and allow them to make the decision to "link" with you quicker.

For example:

"I met you at the North Dallas Career Focus Group. Your 30 second introduction said that you are looking for a position in the manufacturing area. I would like to Link In with you as I may have contacts that may be beneficial to you."

You have told the person where you met them and why it would be a benefit to Link In.
